For a nice date night I like the Venue and Vincenzo's. For the best wings in town I like the Watering Hole and for drinks and dancing it's the Rail and the Downtown!!!!!!

I recommend the Starlight lounge. It is fun for groups or for dates. It is in the haymarket and is a retro bar that really makes you feel as though you are in the fifties. They have marvelous cocktails and martinis, free appetizers on Thursday nights, and also 3 dollar giganto margaritas on Thursdays. They also have fun trivia games. It is much more laid back than the rest of the O street bars.

Barrymore's for a relaxing night with a great menu of drinks including cocktails, martinis, and a wine list. Bricktop for the best night of dancing you could find in Lincoln.

As far as restaurants go, I'm partial to Blue Orchid - really good thai food. I also really like Bison Witches - delicious and cheap! Lots of food for your money.

Bars, I haven't really found anything out of this world, I usually just tackle O street and see where the night takes me. :)

I enjoy sports bars. They are never short on entertainment and serve food later than most bars. There is one in particular located near the Highlands. It is called Down the Hatch. I know that it is struggling a bit but my roommates and I frequent it because it is close, has good food, and has good drink specials most days of the week. It also has Golden Tee which is a completely addiction arcade game.

If you are in the mood for some soul warming soup, stop by Grateful Bread Wed-Sun 11:00 to 4:00. And if you have some time after lunch drop in to Bodhi Imports and visit the best shop in Lincoln owned and operated by the kynd and wonderful Jen!

For weekends the Watering Hole has half priced pitchers, can't beat that!

I don't like to go to the bars that much because they are usually packed which makes it hard to talk to the other people. But when I go to the bars (in the summer after work) I like to go to Brothers for 10 cent wings on Wednesdays then Mainstreet for pool and $1 draws and $2 mixed drinks . During the school year I usually go to the Tackroom, it has a small town feel with kareoke. I also like going to Uncle Ron's for dancing.

For a laid back atmosphere without all the commotion, I prefer Barrymore's. I don't really like packed bars that much.

For food, I like The Oven in the Haymarket, it has great Indian food. It can be a little expensive, but it is great for a first date.

For movies, I like the State Theater. It has couches you can rents and the tickets are allot cheaper than The Grand. Also, its the only theater i know of that has a fully stocked bar, with a full restaurant type menu.

I appreciated the comments. I am sad to hear that Dr Lucas used this specific post in class as more-or-less a trial post and not having any merit. Apparently, I should have worded this post differently. While it was a lighthearted post, it was also a way to see why certain bars/environments appealed to certain genders. I was curious to find out what qualities certain environments appealed to each sex and why. Apparently, being subtle in approach eliminated it from being taken seriously. However in my opinion, not only does this post apply to gender related issues, but it also functioned as a marketing research vehicle that relates to my major. This seemed like an ideal question for both gender communication and research. Again, thanks for the feedback and even though the blog was deemed lacking merit - I did appreciate the comments!
